On the GitHub page of this repository, click on the "Use this template" button at the upper right side.
Select where you want to create the repository and give it a custom name. Best practice is to use an all-lowercase name with hyphens instead of spaces. Anything else will be tricky as GitHub pages in some parts is case-sensitive.
Let's use "conference-3000" as an example.
Once the repository is created, you can clone it to your local machine and start editing the content.
This document draws on years of experience from organizing of running and co-organizing events since like PyCon DE, EuroPython, EuroSciPy and PyData Berlin.
