  • Move from unittest to pytest
  • Expand test OS matrix to ubuntu, macOS, and Windows for Python 3.10, 3.11, and 3.12
  • Add Github action to check that the proper copyright statement is added to each file header
  • Add action for static code analysis using ruff
  • Fill in CONTRIBUTING and issue template

Once these changes look good, they can be replicated to the other repos.
