Comments
Additionally , if the phone is charging (tested while chargin via USB) and a phone call is made or received, the battery starts to drain. |

I'm sorry, what do you mean by nope? |
I experience similar issue. I'm using i8190 with original Samsung battery replacement. Any custom kernels (including all NovaFusions's) have charging problem. Charging works flawlessly on stock kernel. I tried using stock kernel (zImage only) with custom ROM. Charging worked, but wifi and mobile data connection didn't. A couple days ago, I compiled kernel with some power-and-battery-debugging features enabled. It seemed fix the issue (strange), but I'm not sure. |
When trying to charge the device with the stock charger from Samsung or via USB the battery charges up to around 80% and then, even though the system shows the status "charging", the battery starts to drain. After this happens the phone fails to enter Deep Sleep mode (even when unplugged). This last issue is solved after rebooting.
I was able to achieve a full charge via two different ways:
Taking a look at the wake locks, the culprit of preventing the phone from entering Deep Sleep mode seems to be lowbat_wake_lock. Better battery stats shows this lock has been active for hours.
