20-Apps-to-Help-Earth 💡

This repo is an overview of software that our volunteer team hopes to build over the next 2-20 years. Most of these apps are only in the idea stage for now, but some prototypes are up on Codepen. Each app starts to solve critical problems: water shortages, deforestation, poverty, unemployment, and food waste. In 2016-2030, we can create decentralized change without corporate interference...

One of our major aims is to make crowdfunding fun, by turning the fundraising environment into a game.

🌀Quick List of Prototypes🌀

Tron-funding

Turning Crowdfunding into a multiplayer game. Two players compete to win crowdfunded cash for their environmental projects. Head to head challenges on any game: Biplanes, Speed Racers, Sword-fights, Chess. Each player represents an organic project. Winning project wins 75% of the prize fund, second place wins 25%.

Buy Some Give One

Online marketplace where buying stimulates giving. For every 10 Ukulele's sold, one is given away. Ever 20 kilos of red rice sold, one is given away. Portal links through to merchants who pledge to give away one product for every ten or twenty they sell. Operating revenue comes from advertising, donations, or monthly subscriptions from merchants.

Tree Planting Apps

Gamifiying and funding treeplanting. Pokemon Go showed us how Augmented Reality (AR) can make an outdoor group game. Treekachu, based loosely on Pokemon Go, uses AR to pinpoint potential tree-planting sites. India planted 50 million trees in Summer 2016, can apps make the tree planting process more fun?

Robin Hood Army Live

A Live Streaming Video App for The Robin Hood Army. The RHA collects food from restaurants and gives it to those that need it. This app will help viewers watch the RHA as they go about donating food. From 100 to 500,000 meals in one year.

Environmental Hackathons

Students in India, Bangladesh, Switzerland... where-ever. Build apps to solve problems. Water filtration, safety at night, fund-raising, donations, organic farming. Working with students to build apps faster and quicker will speed up the development process.

Infographic Generators

Your message to the world in a choice of 20 beautiful fonts. Prototype working right now. Help iron out the bugs if you want.

Quiet People Meetup Apps

Programmers, farmers, musicians, writers. We inherited the Earth, now let's meet.

Silent Rave Meetup App

100 people listening to a DJ outdoors on high quality headphones. Silent Raves avoid 95 percent of the legal and social problems associated with outdoor parties.

65% Funded Crowdfunding

John has 700USD to build a rooftop hydroponic farm. He needs another 300USD. Can his friends pitch in and give him 300USD?

Fund challenge

Mysterious investor puts 1000USD on the table for an orphanage. Can the public match another 1000USD? Mysterious budget investor puts out 15USD to buy 15 water filters. Can the locals match another 15USD?

Niche Crowdfunding

Ultra-specific fund-raising. Honeyfund proved that a niche finance app could raise lots of money. We're going to build one generic fund-raising app that can be forked and used for specific purposes: cleaning garbage, solar energy, herbal medicine, wind-power and more.

AI Byzantine Chess

Online chess. Teams play head to head, openly advised by AIs. They discuss the moves in public. Infiltrators, spies and double agents are permitted. Each team plays for a crowdfunded prize fund. The winning team wins money for their sponsored project. 75 percent for the winner, 25 percent for the second place team
