A curious person who got his first (used and old) computer back in 2005; an old pentium 1 with 96MB of RAM 🚀. Tinkered with it a lot to figure out what and how it works (still figuring out most of how computers work even today), but fast forward to today I am now an able to call myself a professional software engineer.
Let's see, what did I do with it ... ?
- Installed Fedora 2 on it; my first ever linux distro
- Installed Eclipse IDE (I think it was 3.2 back then) and found the world of Java 1.5
- Played around with how to expand disks, grub installer, multi os boot systems
- Some interesting projects that survived the test of time and didn't get lost can be found here
Fast forward to some of my proud achievements so far ...
- 🥇 Got my first Apache code contribution back in 2016 that went in commons-lang.
- 🥈 Became a silver contributor to Java topic on Stackoverflow
- 🧪 First beta tester for MeerCat Manager (link is now dead since it is a dead system).
- 🥇 Passed OCE, JEE6 Web Component Developer exam
