UCnian Guide Bot

UCnian Guide Bot is a retrieval-based chatbot meticulously crafted to promptly deliver quick and reliable responses to queries from students and other users at the University of Cebu - Main Campus.

Project Overview

The project is structured with separate frontend folders for both admin and user interfaces, alongside a dedicated backend folder. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we have utilized FastAPI to develop a robust backend infrastructure, ensuring efficient data processing and communication. For the frontend, we have used ReactJS to create dynamic and intuitive user interfaces, catering to both administrative and user needs. MongoDB serves as the backbone of our database system, providing scalability and flexibility for managing diverse data types efficiently.

Prerequisite

Node.js (https://nodejs.org/en/download)
VScode (https://code.visualstudio.com/)

Installation

1. Clone the repository: git clone https://github.com/keeeyaan/SIA.git  

2. Navigate to the frontend folder (both for admin & user): cd frontend  

3. Install frontend dependencies (both for admin & user): npm install  

4. Start the frontend server (both for admin & user): npm start

5. Navigate to the backend folder: cd ../backend  

6. Install backend dependencies: pip install -r requirements.txt  

7. Start the backend server with the command: python main.py
