Sidebar occludes main text when zooming in mobile browsers #1422
Comments
Since the zooming works as expected in all the browsers I tested, I guess this is a bug in Mobile Chrome, but a quick googling didn't help, and I wouldn't know how to work around it. |
It's also broken on iOS safari. Can we just disable it on mobile devices? |
Ok I'll try. |
Auto-detecting browser type is a bit iffy, but perhaps this is better as a selector on screen size? That could help to solve Stefan's observation that it doesn't work well in narrow browser windows as well. Alternatively (or in addition), how much control do we have over the domain JuliaLang.org? Could we put a site at m.julialang.org, with an auto-redirect on the server for detected mobile users (and presumably a manual override)? |
Also occurs in Firefox Android (on Nexus 7) and the standard Android browser (Nexus 7, CyanogenMod 10/Jelly Bean). Updated title to reflect that this is a general problem on mobile. |
Should be fixed with the new doc style (used for 0.2; 0.1 still uses the old one). |
In Mobile Chrome (specifically on a Nexus 7) when trying to zoom on the main text column in the Julia documentation, the sidebar will 'intelligently' resize on top of the text. Images with normal and zoomed pages: http://imgur.com/a/gNFpW
