There is an issue with MDAnalysis densityanalysis subpackage and new version of numpy. Related to:
MDAnalysis/mdanalysis#3977
MDAnalysis/mdanalysis#3980
When this issue in MDAnalysis is resolved, we should updated the minimum version of MDAnalysis, and change numpy constraints. This might also require upping the minimum python version to follow MDAnalysis requirements.

Sorry about the delay on this @JecaTosovic - we're still picking up a few numpy 1.25 dev branch issues so it might take a few more days.

Re: Python requirements, python 3.7 was dropped ~ numpy 1.21 so you shouldn't directly encounter the 1.24+ issues currently facing MDAnalysis. I'm happy to advise further on this if necessary.

@JecaTosovic just to update, MDAnalysis 2.4.2 is now out and should bring along necessary fixes for both numpy 1.24 and the current 1.25-dev branch

@IAlibay thanks for keeping us up to date. 🙂 I'll try to sort this out tomorrow.

We're waiting for conda-forge to make the package available on conda forge as well. We'll be making a new release with conda forge support and we'll package all the updated dependecies with that release.

Looks like numpy is no longer updatable, so this is no longer needed.
