aspell with lang options isn't working

I installed the new aspell formula with:

brew install aspell --lang=en

When I try to check a file with any of:

aspell -c file
aspell -l en -c file

It stops at every word as if no dictionary is installed. Is there a setting I'm missing? Does this work for others?

fyi doesn't work for me.. I installed aspell, and then installed the dictionaries as normal (not with homebrew)

If you want a homebrew solution, you can grab/adapt the formula I linked to above. Thanks for confirming the issue.

The aspell prezip-bin program is not found during installation of the
language dictionaries, and thus empty dictionaries were installed, see #551.

There is a patch that fixes the aforementioned issue:
