Based on the list in #93940, could this possibly move to node@14 or node instead of node@10?

I don't think changes for node@14 are in 1.x release yet.

The PR opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards#1028 (Commit: opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards@d48d001) was merged into main branch. Not sure if they are planning to backport into 1.x or release with 2.0.0.

node@16 tracking issues opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards#406 / opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards#835 don't have timeline for support and looks like there are various work items required.

EDIT: Based on roadmap https://github.com/orgs/opensearch-project/projects/1, the next major/minor release should be 2.0.0 planned for May 12th, 2022 (RC: April 26th). Though, I did see comments that 1.3.0 was cancelled, but release still happened, so not sure if upstream is planning 1.3.1, 1.4.0, or 2.0.0 next.

Hi @cho-m, I'm a maintainer on OpenSearch Dashboards and just wanted to clarify our plans for the Node.js upgrade to v14 documented in opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards#920. As referenced in opensearch-project/OpenSearch-Dashboards#835, a Node.js upgrade is considered a breaking change for us, so unfortunately we cannot merge those changes for any 1.x release since we follow semver. These changes will be included in v2.0.
