In the PRFAQ the name Metrics for Energy and Carbon - Real Time (MEC-RT) was used.
It was also proposed that a monthly roll-up of the same schema could be called MEC-Monthly and by analogy, MEC-Daily MEC-Yearly would make sense.
The same schema may also be useful in datacenter environments, beyond cloud providers, but the specific problem being addressed by this standard is that this information is currently not available from cloud providers.
For the creation of this project the descriptive name Real Time Cloud was used, so RTC would be a reasonable name.
Any other ideas about naming should be discussed in this issue. When the time comes, we'll consider the options, vote on a final name and close this issue.
