• I followed the guidelines as stated in the Review Guidelines

  • The component has the minimum amount of code necessary for its purpose, and it is broken down into smaller components in order to separate concerns and functions

On second thought, I think we should retain the behavior we currently have on native platforms
It currently re-focuses the input when you come back from another app, while this PR breaks this behavior
@tienifr, is there a way we could fix that? We're fixing MacOS / Desktop, native platforms shouldn't be affected

@eVoloshchak Sorry if I misunderstood something, I've tested it on latest main and the input will not be focused when we come back from another app.

That Keyboard.dismiss was added as a fix #6285 (comment) where in native, showSoftInputOnFocus does not work if the app is backgrounded, then foregrounded.

That inconsistency only occurs on Android, and according to #6285 (comment), it's not really a bug, just the way it works in that platform. And according to #6285 (comment), we don't have to refocus the input in that case because the user can already immediately type on the numbers in the screen.

I already mentioned that in my proposal, we don't have to refocus the input

Huh, I distinctly remember testing this yesterday and it was focused, but you are correct, it isn't in prod. I think what happened is I was testing in DEV, and since native platforms are painfully slow, it was still focused when I came back to the app (background handler didn't kick in at that point and didn't blur the input). Apologies for the confusion
