Defichain Lottery
We came up with the first Lottery system on DefiChain! The initial version will be a centralised solution but once the DefiChain Meta Chain will be released this project will go completely decentralised.
This is how the initial lottery system will work:
We're offering a deposit address. As soon as you're transferring some DFI to this address, lottery tickets will be generated (e.g. 1 DFI each ticket). Overpaid amounts (e.g. you transferred 10.55 DFI, 0.55 DFI overpaid) will be refunded automatically.
A ticket consists of a 6 digit random number where each digit can be between 0-9. Once the lottery drawing ended, the winners will be determined and then the funds will be paid directly to the addresses who own a winning ticket.
determine the draw winning number
We implemented a flow to generate a bulletproof winning number. The number is generated in dependence of all tickets - therefore we're generating a string like:
deposit_trx_id-deposit_sender_address-deposit_block_height-ticket_number-ticket_generation_timestampThis string is concatenated for each ticket. Then the MD5 hash of it will generate the seed using the crc32 function. Fun is: everytime we use this unique seed, we receive the same winning number.
All data will be published via REST API (and maybe as CSV export) including the script to calculate the winning number. SO everybody can check if the winning number is valid and not manipulated!
This CFP is special
This CFP is not funding the project itself! We're asking for DFI to fill the lottery pot for the first drawing.
This funding is from the community for the community.
No parts of it will be used for development or burn/donation/treasury reduction.
All amounts not won will be automatically rollover to the following draw until they are paid out to the players.
How much we are asking for will be decided by the community. Here's the result of the voting:
Winner categories
For each number, there's a winner bucket:
As you see, the numbers and their order are relevant. The payout amount for each bucket is predefined and will be splittet to all winners in this bucket according to the following distribution.
Special
Think you already added up the % of the pot mentioned above. Until now, only 80% of the pot are reserved. So what about the rest? To offer some more benefit, 2% of each bought ticket will be donated to the DFI Fund #decentralizedHumanity
8% of each bought ticket will be burned - We can decide if we want to burn DFI or swap to DUSD and burn that instead.
The last 10% is the treasury pot, which is required for marketing and development work.
Notice: if parts of the pot are not paid out, they will be transferred to the next drawing WITHOUT the burn/donation/treasury reduction!
dUSD deposit - we're burning dUSD!
On top we implemented a dUSD deposit. All dUSD will be swapped to DFI directly - so we're burning dUSD!
The user receives 1.5x the tickets compared to his DFI deposit.
e.g. ticket price in DFI: 1 - ticket price in dUSD: 1
How will the fund be spent?
A successful start of this project really depends on marketing and the initial pool size. We're NOT asking for a CFP to compensate the development of server costs but rather a contribution to the initial pool size. The CFP fund will not be burned, donated nor will some go to the treasury. This will be purely invested in the lottery pool for the community to win. Any excessive amount that has not been paid out will automatically rollover to the next lottery drawing.
