Fixes the following issues:

Add KeyReleaseMask to the event mask so that key releases can be detected
Since a value of 0 indicates that a button is pressed in the Game Boy, change the "set button state" logic to ( xev.type == KeyPress ) ? 0 : 1
Use key symbols instead of key codes for more portable key detection

A previous pull request has been made for this issue (a319a7c). It addresses issues 1 and 2 with a slightly different approach.
