From a logfile of ICON:

==> Error: a single spec was requested, but parsed more than one:
dev_path=/scratch/snx3000/jenkins/workspace/Spack/spack_PR@3/icon_81a15a63d2914182b0466807c29b070b/build

It could be the the @ is interpreted as a spec, therefore parsing fails and gives a weird error.

This problem appears for icon4py plans too.
