Describe the bug

Subscription status fails to change from "Active" to "On hold" after clicking the "suspend" button on the "WooCommerce>Subscriptions" Page.

Environment:

Woocommerce Version: WooCommerce 8.2.1
WooCommerce Payments: 6.7.0-test-1
WordPress version: v6.3.2

PC:
Windows 10,
Chrome(Version 118.0.5993.71)
Firefox (Version 118.0.2)

To Reproduce

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Create any test site.
  2. Install and activate all the required plugins.
  3. Complete setup.
  4. Install and activate WCPay Dev plugin.
  5. Go to WCPay Dev in the WordPress admin.
  6. Check the following checkboxes: Enable UPE checkout, Add UPE additional payment methods,
    Enable WCPay subscriptions.
  7. Click the Submit button.
  8. Go to a subscription product on the store front end.
  9. Purchase a subscription product.
  10. Navigate to WooCommerce → Subscriptions.
  11. Hover an active subscription and click the Suspend button.
  12. Observe that, Subscription status fails to change from "Active" to "On hold" after clicking the "suspend" button.

Actual behavior

Subscription status fails to change from "Active" to "On hold" after clicking the "suspend" button on the "WooCommerce>Subscriptions" Page.

Expected behavior

Subscription status should be changed from "Active" to "On hold" after clicking the "suspend" button on the "WooCommerce>Subscriptions" Page.

Isolating the problem (mark completed items with an [x]):

  • I have deactivated other plugins and confirmed this bug occurs when only WooCommerce plugin is active.
  • This bug happens with a default WordPress theme active, or Storefront.
  • I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps above.

Just noting that I was able to reproduce this issue on JN sites with WCPay versions 6.6.0 and 6.5.0 as well. However, I could not reproduce this locally.

This issue impacts WC Payments Subscriptions, so assigning to Quark (based on team responsibilities Pc2DNy-3z-p2) @diego373. Assigning as part of Gamma Triage process PcreKM-yM-p2.

This was fixed in subscriptions-core and will be fixed in wcpay once we upgrade subscriptions-core to 6.4.0 #7533
