Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Some images have unwanted artifacts known as "scarring" on them. Being able to remove these during processing would provide cleaner images for subsequent analysis. These are typically always straight lines which aids in their identification for removal.

Describe the solution you'd like

Removing of scarring artifacts during image processing. There are tools available in scikit-image. Specifically the Straight line Hough transform

The Hough transform in its simplest form is a method to detect straight lines 1.

Alternatives are available in OpenCV (see StackOverflow Thread).

Describe alternatives you've considered
