How can I go about helping 'fix' package autocompletion?

I read #465 and I would like to ask about the possible acceptable solutions having seen the PR #459 to try and fix the lack of autocompletion in packages, where is best to ask this and where should I be looking if I wanna help implement this (apparently) flaky behaviour.
