All key functions should have unit tests, app-level functional tests also desirable.

test harness (using qunit) is in place
running from a local install is at:
http://localhost:8888/test/tests.html

prefix map tests already in place, others adding as I go along

later, will have a go at setting up Selenium (headless browser) for proper functional tests in browser
