In systems biology, datasets are too large for traditional static plots. Each data mining excursion would benefit from a slightly different visualization approach. In the past couple years, with the advent of simple, modularized, web-based visualization tools, it has become possible to design specific and interactive visualizations for any application. The goal of visbio is to collect a set of such interactive plots, maps, graphs, dashboards, and images.
Escher, the first tool available as part of this effort, is a web-based viewer and builder for metabolic maps.
