Description
I have a very weird issue where Yomitan search (the functionality for searching without parsing existing text offline) is not taking my typed japanese text generated by Mozc. Esentially, I type something and press enter, and no text shows up, and Yomichan just says it could not find any results. This seems to have occured after I updated my Firefox. It accepts roman input just fine when typed directly (not through Mozc). I'm on Linux.

Any idea why this could be happening?

Browser version
Firefox 128.5.0esr (64 bits)

Yomitan version
Extension version: Yomitan Popup Dictionary 24.12.12.0
Platform: Linux
Browser: Firefox
Language: fr
User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0
AnkiConnect version: 6

Can't replicate.

Which linux distro is this and which input method framework are you using? (fcitx5, ibus, ...) Does this happen on any other programs or webpages?

If you're able to test on the latest stable firefox version (133) and on chromium that would be helpful.

@Kuuuube Debian 12, looks to be fcitx5, nothing else at all, just yomichan search, and actually, I can write elsewhere (like when editing settings. Unable to test on modern firefox due to by distribution not distributing that version, sorry. Thank you fory your help.

Is there anything else I could try other than updating past the release of Firefox provided in Debian currently? Such as providing debug output? I verified that the issue is present in both Yomitan and Yomichan.

Try turning off automatic kana conversion (under the settings gear). It shouldn't be any different than any other text box like that.

This also seems to likely be a browser issue. Without being able to replicate it there isn't much I can do about it.
