map hangs while dragging - sometimes not responding - worst on mobile!

I am experiencing severe difficulties of simply zooming and then dragging the map around. On desktop it is not so bad. I understand that the map images need to load to display, but on mobile I really have to do a dragging movement 3 times before it actually starts to drag the map around.

Is this normal? Anything I could do to improve the experience?
