In GOV.UK Frontend the pattern attribute was included in the date field so that older mobile browsers would show the numeric keypad. This is no longer required and is going to be removed in the next release.

  • Remove pattern attribute from the date inputs
  • Tidy up any methods and params that are no longer required (#pattern, @wildcards)
  • Update the RDoc documentation
  • Check for and update any references in the guide
