Test IAM Deployments with CephFS Storage Solution #240

Description:
It was identified that CephFS could be used as a storage solution in WSO2 product deployments in Kubernetes since, it supports ReadWriteMany access mode.

This has to be tested.

WSO2 recommends the use of Rook Operator to create a CephFS cluster in Kubernetes. Rook stands as the leader among Cloud Native storage solutions.

Prerequisites

Installation Steps

  • Deploy the Rook Operator

Please follow section deploy the Rook Operator in this document.

  • Create a Rook Ceph Cluster using a PVC

Please see this documentation for an example.

You may use the Kubernetes StorageClass of your desire to create the underlying Persistent Volumes, by setting the StorageClass name at [1] and [2].

  • [Optional] Install the Rook Tool Box to observe the health status of the CephFS cluster created

  • Create a filesystem to be shared across multiple Pods using the instructions here

A scalable deployment of WSO2 Identity Server version 5.10.0 was tested successfully with this storage solution. Thus, closing.
