USB Port provides no power to Launchpad Mini MK3

Thanks in advance for the assistance here. I just picked up a used/pre assembled PER|FORMER today from a buyer here in Spain. It boots up, the menus show everything as they should, it looks fantastic. The previous owner has used it including the USB port where he plugged in an Arturia Keystep into the USB port and showed that the PER|FORMER receives input from the Keystep. He was using a power brick to power the Keystep.

I have a brand new Launchpad Mini MK3 but when plugging it into the USB port, there is no power to it. I plug it into any other USB port on my modular system (Expert Sleepers FH-2, etc) and the Launchpad powers up just fine.

I've tried updating the PER|FORMER to 1.42 and it took as expected. But still no power to the Launchpad. If I plug the Launchpad into a USB hub that's connected to my Macbook, then plug a USB cable to the PER|FORMER the Launchpad doesn't seem to be recognized.

I'm looking for advice on how to get it working. Do I have a bad PER|FORMER? Did I not enable something in the settings? I did a pile of menu diving and have run out of options.

Please help.
