📢 Project Update!

Web3.js is one of the earliest and one of the most used libraries in the Ethereum ecosystem! Thanks to the contributions of the open community and the maintenance of this repo, we can ensure projects will continue building on ETH with as little hassle as possible. Here are some of the big ticket items we will be focusing on to ensure that we can continue to grow and prosper with the ever-changing Ethereum ecosystem.

4.x Rewrite of Web3.js
This major upgrade is needed to modernize Web3.js using modern Typescript and rebuild the architecture from the ground up. The efforts to push out this upgrade will take up a lot of our efforts, but it will be worth it for the benefit of all Web3.js users.

Building the Web3.js Team
There have been many recent changes to the team managing Web3.js and I'd like to take the opportunity to reassure the community that there are big plans coming to ensure this library is as good as it can be for the benefit of all buidlers on the Ethereum platform. We are always looking for new contributors to bring their expert knowledge to continue making Web3.js as good as it can be.

Fostering Community Engagement
You are the most important stakeholder to this project. We are currently in the process of ensuring that we continue to build and maintain this project with the community. Starting with Discussions being enabled on the repo, we'd like to engage with you and how we can make Web3.js better for all of us. We also encourage you to link up with us on Chainsafe's "web3js" channel where you can directly contact us and/or contribute to the project. We will be making a large effort to ensure development and management of this repo is done with the community, for the community.
