Transition approved. If/when you decide to use this new notation in old definitions it will be useful to test that there were no unintended changes in those existing definitions. |

@swickr Yep! Updating dependent specs to use the new notation is a separate step, and will need to go through reviews for exactly that reason. ;) |

Substantive changes
https://drafts.csswg.org/css-values-3/#changes
Any changes in normative references?
No
Any changes in requirements?
No
Wide Review of substantive changes
Only one change: addition of bracketed value notation to the CSS value definition syntax. (No change to implementations, this is just a notation used internally within CSS drafts.) There wasn't any wide review of that change, but there was substantial discussion in w3c/csswg-drafts#355
Issues status
Both issues closed accepted. (One additional one was just filed after the request to transition was put to the WG, but it's resulting in no substantive changes.)
Formal Objections
None
Any changes in implementation information?
Nothing exciting to report
Deadline for further comments
CSSWG always accepts comments, changes are limited by level of deployment / compat risk.
Any changes in patent disclosures?
None
