Wayne suggested 2 items:

  1. Content shall enable users to reflow any multi-column presentation to a single column presentation.
  2. Content shall enable text to word wrap so that lines fit the viewport width regardless of the text size.

This seems to fit into WCAG 1.4.8 item 2
Current wording:
1.4.8 Visual Presentation: For the visual presentation of blocks of text, a mechanism is available to achieve the following: (Level AAA)

  1. Width is no more than 80 characters or glyphs (40 if CJK).

Proposal changes enclosed in @@:
2. Width is @@user adjustable between no less than 5 characters and @@ no more than 80 characters or glyphs (40 if CJK).
