Explain in detail what your suggested feature would be used for.
It would be nice if there was an option to separate the list of online friends that appears on the right side by individual VRChat favorites groups instead of just VRCX favorites.
Otherwise, it would be nice to have options to just have settings for each VRChat favorites group instead of one unified VRCX favorites group.
Describe how it would look if it requires a UI.
If going with option 1, it would be simple to just replace the "Favorites" category in the friends list on the right with multiple categories, one for each VRChat favorites group, with the category title (ie. the "Favorites" text) replaced by the name of the favorites group.
For option 2, I feel like there would need to be a dropdown next to each setting that you can currently configure for your VRCX favorites. And the dropdown would allow you to choose between your different VRChat favorites groups, and when you select a group, then the setting next to it allows you to change that setting only for that particular group. Perhaps the placeholder for this dropdown would be "Choose a group" or "Choose a favorites group" or something like that. And the input for the option next to it would be disabled until you choose a group.
For notification settings, there would simply be more boxes in the row, one for each VRChat favorites group.
For settings that are just toggles/checkboxes that apply to all VRCX favorites, like whether you want X to happen to your favorites, you can instead have a dropdown listing your VRChat favorites groups, where you can select multiple values. So the setting would only be applied to the VRChat favorites groups that you selected in the dropdown. Like what is already implemented when you choose your VRCX favorites.
Explain why people would want to use it.
My VRChat favorites groups are sorted by "People I always join", "People I click with", and Spanish-speaking people. I have my settings in VRCX set up so that I am notified whenever favorites change worlds and log on and off. But I would like to be able to display People I always join as well as the People I click with separately from my other friends on my friends' list, so that I can more easily see all the friends I might join off of in the sidebar. But I don't want to be notified of all the friends I click with when they log on and off and change worlds, otherwise my notifications would get spammy. I only want to be notified for the people I always join off of, so that when they're available to join, I can join off of them. And then I can just check who else I click with is online when no one who I always join is online.
For people who use their favorites to sort between different tiers of closeness or different tiers of friends, I feel like this would be a nice thing to implement. Currently, whenever I want to see who's online who I want to join, I have to temporarily change my VRCX favorites to include both VRChat favorites groups, just to see who's online. And then change it back before I log onto VRChat.

Currently, the sidebar is organized into categories such as Me, Favorites, Online, Active, and Offline. However, I manage my Favorites by distinct groups, such as close friends I meet regularly or event organizers. With the current implementation, all groups I’ve set as Favorites are displayed together under the Favorites tab, without distinction.
It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature that separates Favorites into individual tabs or sections based on VRChat favorites groups, rather than combining them into a single tab.
Additionally, if possible, I’d like to request an enhancement to allow filtering notifications by VRChat favorites groups. This would make it much easier to customize notifications for specific groups, improving the overall usability of the Favorites system.
