Project dead? #3282
Comments
As I understand it there is no more active development being directly supported by VMware on this project. I believe they are just letting it die on the vine instead of making any official announcements. They claimed they intended to make an official sunset announcement back in January 2022, but never did. |
That said, I would highly encourage anyone with the bandwidth and desire to fork Octant and keep it alive. I know a lot of people found it to be a very useful project and it being landlocked in this repo with no maintainers isn't helping things. |
Just found out about this tool and it is the first one of those tools that has a very useful feature to graphically visualize the dependencies between the resources. That is a really useful feature to quickly get a grasp of how things are deployed. Would be a shame if octant would disappear. |
Hello, the project is not dead. I'm trying to organize an internal effort to kickstart the development. Currently, an updated roadmap is being planned. |
This project is great! It'd be awesome to see continuous development. I think with all the recent changes in Lens, this project is the best alternative out there. |
