Patroni cluster read / write

Hello, I want to setup a Patroni cluster for a application which needs both writing and reading data from the Patroni cluster.

The playbook install_cluster.yml generates the following haproxy listener:

listen master
    bind 10.8.12.194:5000
    maxconn 10000
    option tcplog
    option httpchk OPTIONS /primary
    http-check expect status 200
    default-server inter 3s fastinter 1s fall 3 rise 4 on-marked-down shutdown-sessions
 server node-patroni1 x.x.x.110:6432 check port 8008
 server node-patroni2 x.x.x.111:6432 check port 8008
 server node-patroni3 x.x.x.112:6432 check port 8008


listen replicas 
    bind 10.8.12.194:5001
    maxconn 10000
    option tcplog
    option httpchk OPTIONS /replica
    balance roundrobin
    http-check expect status 200
    default-server inter 3s fastinter 1s fall 3 rise 2 on-marked-down shutdown-sessions
 server node-patroni1 x.x.x.110:6432 check port 8008
 server node-patroni2 x.x.x.111:6432 check port 8008
 server node-patroni3 x.x.x.112:6432 check port 8008

I could use in my application the Haproxy listener master (port 5000), but in this case the read requests would not be balanced between all replicas. Is this correct?

Do you other ideas?

Yes, the application must have support sending read requests to a custom port (ex 5001), and write requests (ex 5000).
