I am trying to watch videos through youtube-local but recently I am getting this error for all videos and the output is saying that the "Player urls missing, retrying" but I never receive them.

I git cloned the repo and only copied over my .youtube-local file other than that everything is default.

I can reproduce it when routing through Tor. I haven't encountered this personally when using Mullvad VPN though. Does not appear to happen with the Tor Browser, so this isn't a blanket block on Tor. Invidious appears to have the same issue, and some people are even reporting experiencing the issue on YouTube's official website. Going to wait until invidious figures out a fix.

Anyone getting this issue when not routing through Tor?

They probably don't like your IP address. Might be best to use a VPN

I've been getting this issue as well when routing through tor over the past weeks, and is becoming annoying as heck.

I everything works OK when not routing through tor.

You could try this command to change tor circuits when it happens: echo -e 'authenticate ""\nsignal newnym\nquit' | nc localhost 9051. Mullvad VPN is also working well for me.

Bad news; looks like invidious won't be able to fix it: iv-org/invidious#4734 (comment)

There's a configuration file (I think torrc) somewhere where you need to set the password to blank or something like that. That's why authenticate "" s in that command

I guess I had issues because I was running youtube-local on a vps (purely for myself though) and I guess it didn't like the ip of the vps and its not something I can just "change" all the time.
