Description:

Hi, I'm experiencing an issue with the AppIndicators regarding automatic margin adjustment when applications are running on indicator panel.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start two to three applications that support AppIndicators.
  2. Verify that both applications appear in the AppIndicators panel.
  3. Observe the margin around the indicator icons.
  4. If not happens, repeat the reproduction process.

Expected Behavior:
The AppIndicators panel should automatically adjust the margins uniformly for all applications, maintaining consistent spacing regardless of how many apps are running.

Actual Behavior:
When some application is added to indicator panel, the margin around its icon becomes excessively large, approximately 3 time more the expected margin, causing the layout to look inconsistent.

Additional Information:

  • Issue seems related to the automatic margin handling in the AppIndicators panel when a new application is introduced.
  • The issue affects both the appearance and usability of the panel, particularly in scenarios where users are running multiple background applications.

Environment:

  • OS: Ubuntu 24.04

Possible Solutions:

  • Review and adjust the automatic margin calculation to ensure consistent spacing, regardless of the number of active AppIndicators.
  • Consider introducing a manual margin adjustment setting for users as a temporary workaround.

Additional Note (Important):

  • The error might be related to Slack, because whenever I open it that happens, and closing the app doesn't fix the margin issue.
  • The error sometimes happen when maximizing and minimizing windows too.

Thanks 🚀
