I am a user of pimd version 2.1.8 and I have a clarification regarding the configuration of pimd. By default pimd runs on all interfaces and we could disable it on particular interfaces by using phyint interface command in conf file However this disables IGMP on that interface too which I don't want. I want pimd to run only on 1 interface of the router and IGMP on all the interfaces. May I know how to achieve this ?
With the current pimd implementation this is not possible. But it shouldn't be necessary since most UNIX kernels today, including Linux, support acting as an IGMP querier, even without pimd running.
