b-ber logo demos

This repository contains projects that demonstrate how to use b-ber. To get started, clone this repository and build the project whose functionality you would like to review.

Additional demos will be added for different use-cases on an ongoing basis. For more information on how to use b-ber, please visit the b-ber wiki.

Below, please find descriptions of the included demos.

This demo contains a publication authored with b-ber that contains all directives and corresponding functionality.

If you are getting started with b-ber, you can clone or download this project to help understand the process of authoring content. When new directives or functionality are added to b-ber, this demo will be updated.

This demo includes examples on how to include figures and images and full bleed images in different output formats.

The contents of this demo is an excerpt from the book The Amme Talks, a conversation between poet and machine, published by Triple Canopy. The excerpt included here, "Language is Speaking," is the introduction to the book by the translator of The Amme Talks, Shane Anderson.

This demo includes the graphic design of a b-ber project using the b-ber-theme-serif; several of the basic block directives; as well as the functionality and design of the figures directive.

This demo includes an example on how to control the design of a b-ber project using the theme settings file, the theme overrides file, as well as how to include fonts in the project directory or hosted remotely. It also shows how to control the design of the project for specific builds. The _settings.scss and overrides.scss files found in the _project/stylesheets/b-ber-theme-serif folder have additional inline comments.

This demo includes several examples on how to add custom styles to b-ber projects and "scope" them for different output formats. In addition, it includes an example on how to use mixins and Sass variables from the _settings.scss file from the b-ber-theme-serif.

This folder contains the extend scripts and templates for importing the XML build into InDesign. For more information, see the XML and InDesign import instructions entry in the b-ber wiki.
