<p>Greetings Internet Visitor. I am Tom: mathematically-inclined physicist and professional weirdo.
My <a href ="files/cv/mainiero_cv_2024.pdf">CV can be found here</a>.
My <a href="https://github.com/tmainiero">Github repositories can be found here</a>.
<p>
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at <a href="https://www.sjny.edu/long-island/academics/programs-departments/mathematics-and-computer-science">St Joseph's University, Long Island</a>.
Before that I was a postdoc at <a href="https://www.physics.rutgers.edu/het/">Rutgers NHETC (New High Energy Theory Center)</a>,
and before <em>that</em>, I was a graduate student the University of Texas at Austin under the supervision of <a href="https://gauss.math.yale.edu/~an592/">Andrew Neitzke</a>.
</p>
<p>
My research interests traditionally lie at the crossroads between geometry, quantum field theory, and quantum information.
More broadly I am interested in a wide range of topics—I particularly enjoy those involving applications of category theory to solve concrete problems and gain insights that are difficult to realize otherwise.
Click the <a href="research.html">research</a> tab above for more information!
