[FR] Show progress after first iteration

Currently, the first time the progress bar is shown is just after the second iteration, when an ETA can be estimated. I often find myself waiting until this point to see that things are indeed running. This waiting time could be halved if the progress meter showed up after the first iteration, with an ETA of "TBD" (Too be determined), or something along those lines.
