How to control whether or not an upload is attached to the current post?

Thanks for the great starting point. I'm having trouble deciphering a few options for wp.media. Is there a way to control whether or not files uploaded through the dialog are attached to the current post or not?

Previously I was adding (or not adding) a post_id query string parameter to the media iframe URL. Now, I'm not sure. Is this possible?

On a related note, what about restricting the files listed (or not) to files attached to the current post?
