Problem description

I'm a blind Termux user, and wanted to try using it with a braille keyboard I have because it's smaller than my normal external keyboard. I connected it and opened termux, and TalkBack's on-screen braile keyboard shows up, telling me that an external braille keyboard is connected, as it normally does. But then I cannot type. I tested this in messages, and it only lets me type if I'm actually actively focused on the text field, which termux doesn't have.

Steps to reproduce the behavior.

This is slightly tricky because you need hardware of some sort:

  1. Start TalkBack.
  2. Connect a braille display/keyboard.
  3. Open Termux
  4. Try to type on the braille keyboard.

What is the expected behavior?

I would expect the orbit writer (my braille keyboard) and any other assistive device to just work in Termux out-of-the-box.

System information

  • Termux application version: 2024.07.07 from Google Play
  • Android OS version: 14
  • Device model: Motorola Razr Plus 2024
