Publish telepresense to Winget #3087
Comments
Hi @SayakMukhopadhyay, we'll have our next monthly Telepresence contributors meeting next Wednesday I believe. Would you be able to join us then? |
Sure I will be able to join at that time although I am not sure as to inputs I would be bringing into that meeting. Would you mind giving me some idea as to what kind of contribution I could make in the meeting? |
It would be a good place to discuss how you might go about creating a PR for this, what would you need from us, how does it look from your end? Our engineers would probably be able to let you know what's involved from our perspective or how difficult they perceive it to be. Before starting any real work it would probably be good to discuss. |

Please describe your use case / problem.
Winget 1.4 has launched a few months back and with it they have brought support to accept zip packages (see https://devblogs.microsoft.com/commandline/windows-package-manager-1-4/#zip-archive). It is even possible to deploy only a binary as a portable app (see https://devblogs.microsoft.com/commandline/windows-package-manager-1-3/#support-for-portable-packages). As such, I believe it would be nice to be able to install telepresence in Windows with winget.
I am willing to work on a PR which updates the GitHub workflow for the same.
