Messages for "today" (monday) are appearing before messages for "wednesday" (5 days ago)
Refreshing page fixes it.

This situation was reached by clicking a link to the message from D from today (monday), which is in a room that had not been opened in a while (possibly not since last wednesday, not 100% sure)

Not tried to reproduce yet.

Possibly related issues in element-web, but I didn't really investigate :
