Application state essentially being files located within .var and similar data. This must be done with E2EE encryption in mind. Maybe we could use Charm for some of this, as discussed in the internal Outline document?

We would also want a more advanced mechanism, a developer API, for tauOS aware applications to take advantage of. However, that would be in scope for another issue.
