How does w3m render Ruby?

I'm interested in understanding how w3m deals with ruby, rt, & rb.

Is there any documentation on this?

It doesn’t. If everything is coded correctly (particularly rp needs to be used, with correct parentheses inside the two rp elements) it displays whatever fallback text is coded.
