[Connection Issue]: Alexa can't setup the Hub, but G-Home can without any issue #374
Comments
Since you have answered the vlan question with "yes", could you please describe your network infrastructure. |
There's no VLAN, sorry for the misunderstanding. I understood these checkboxes to mean "Checked". Actual routing: |
And where is your Alexa device in this ? 😅 IPv6 is enabled on both routers and proxmox? |
Depends on which 😅 The alexas itself are on a different router than my mobile, which i use for setup. But all can communicate together. Using the IoT Wifi to setup also doesn't change the issue. G-Home does the setup just fine, while Alexa gets a timeout. IPv6 is enabled (FB-7590 again master serving the DHCP-Server) on all routers and also setup in Proxmox. Btw. its just 1x FB-7590, but double routed, since the FB should be the DHCP Server. HAOS routing: Mobile routing: (Private Wifi) Alexa routing: (IoT Wifi) |
And where Google and Amazon Hubs are? In fact you need to be 10000% sure that UDP messages in general can flow between all networking segments where your mobile device and the hubs and the HAMH is located ... so first of all ... So when all these devices yousaid are on the "LAN router" without any other sub networks or segments then it should work ... |
There is a |
Built a little Powershell to check, output is attached :) FB-7590 is Private Wifi Matter_Test_Results-PRIVATE-WIFI.txt Also here a screenshot of HA CL which indicates IPv6 is connected: |
In fact it omnly matters if the MDSN messages really arrive in the network with the alexa hub ... so ideally find a device there and use dns-sd or avahi or bonjour whatever to scan for mdns announcements and see which from matter are there |
@Apollon77 checked successfully for both routers via wireshark, no issues: |

Things you tried
Proxmox HAOS-VM Setup:
Hub(Bridge) on Port: 5540 is found by alexas, but cant setup via app because timeout. Tryed G-Home afterward which had no issue.
Deleting and adding the Hub multiple times didnt help.
