Tokens with wildcard enabled have an asterisk in their path that gets replaced with a number based on the files you have, eg. token_1.png, token_2.png, token_3.png for token_*.png.
Polymorpher doesn't take this into account, and replaces the token image with its wildcard path, instead of assigning a number to it (could just be 1, but preferably random too).
This is specially frustrating with the druid's wildshape, as most animal tokens in my collection have color variations selected by the wildcard feature. When I drag and drop the token into the character sheet, it becomes transparent as it can't load the image.
