Improve docs - What is this, what do I do here - on a landing page

I think I've been hitting the correct landing page at... http://sukey.org/io but it's hard to know what exactly it's about and what I can do.

Generally it would be useful to specify a short (one or two sentence) 'ask' which says what people might be expected to do if they want to contribute.
