Extend JSON model definition to support mixins #1049

according to the docs, mixins are to be defined in the model JS file.

Having part of a model definition not defined in the JSON file makes it considerably more difficult to exhaustively expose the model definition.

@brillout this is not the case, you can also define them in the JSON file: see #1264
