What would you like to see?

Currently once the transaction is submitted the sep24 polls the anchor every 2 seconds
while status is pending_user_transfer_start
this makes it hard to click to get the details on the transaction... I would suggest the refresh go to 10 seconds or more.

What alternatives are there?

Leave it as is

I think a pause button would probably be the best solution. Having a long poll period could be frustrating when trying to test.
