Sometimes a ticket is closed in good faith, but turns out not to actually fix an issue.
Next time such issue pops up, junit2jira opens a new ticket.
The advantage of such approach is that the new ticket is not cluttered with (oftentimes long) list comments for each occurrence.

The downside is that the new ticket has no relation to the previous one (which sometimes contains precious research or background comments from humans).

In order to fix the downside without also losing the advantage would be to add a link to the previous ticket.
This can be done by relaxing the search to also include closed tickets.
In case more than one matching ticket is found, pick one, for example the most recently updated one.
