Some websites have a black background even if darkreader is not enabled. #17

Such as this Trobule_Site.

Its background is displayed as normal white in Chrome, but the background is black in the self-contained browser making it impossible to see the text on the page clearly.

same thing dictionary.cambridge.
It's so annoying.

Hi!
I still haven't had time for investigating this.
But for now, could you guys try the following:

  • go to the add-on directory
  • find/open the file browser_engine.py
  • on line 63 (like self.page().setBackgroundColor(Qt.transparent)), write a # in the beginning of the line.
  • restart Anki

@ssricardo Commenting out that line fixed the issue for me.
